Wild Swimming

We’ve planned daily swim excursions into our schedule so that we can explore some of our favourite swim spots in the vicinity of our retreat home.

We will be sure to catch at least one planned sunrise and one sunset swim during your stay. However with a private beach right on our doorstep, if you would like to swim more than once per day, this is an option at any time.

Our planned swims will be accompanied by our swim guide and another member of the Good Things team, so wether you just want to take a dip or would like to cover some distance, we’ve got you covered.

Daily Yoga

Our Daily Yoga practice will mainly consist of slow movement and Yin, nourishing restorative, balancing breathwork and deeply relaxing yoga nidra to complement the day’s more active pace.

This retreat is a chance to take it slow, feel and listen to your own body, surrender into bolsters and blankets to experience moments of deep, rejuvenating rest. We hope that these quieter practices of deep relaxation will encourage even more space for you to connect to your intuition and creativity.

And of course you can self practice at any time during the retreat using the Yoga mats, bolsters, blocks & straps provided and of course the beautiful in and out-door spaces that we have at our retreat home.

Ayurvedic Massage

Mel is a fully trained Ayurveda Marma Massage Therapist and is available for massages during the retreat at an additional cost.

Ayurvedic marma massage therapy is a deeply relaxing warm oil massage which uses specific techniques and stimulation of mama points to bring the mind and body back into balance.

Analogue buffet
& Cyanotype Printing

We’ve provided a buffet of film loaded vintage cameras for you to play with during the retreat, explore the retreat grounds with them or take them on our Kynance cove hike for some coastal views.

Good Things organiser and analogue film geek Kate is on hand to show you how they work and help you to load the film. We have provided everyone with a pack of polaroid film to use during the retreat and we have a supply of 35mm to load into the other cameras. Please do feel free to bring extra film with you if you know you would like to take lots of photos.

Kate will home develop the 35mm film after the retreat for you or you can take it home to process yourself at a lab. If you are interested in home developing and there is time in our schedule Kate will be able to walk you through the process of developing your own film negatives ready for scanning.

Cyanotype is a photographic printing process that produces ‘blueprints’ like those traditionally used in architecture and engineering. We will be using forest finds and foraged seaweeds to create our unique prints. It is a simple and fun process that you will be able to replicate at home.

Where we stay

Our retreat base is a beautiful house set in 50 acres of private meadows and ancient woodland on the banks of the Helford River by Port Navas creek. We have a spacious kitchen and dining area where our chef will be preparing and serving our meals using delicious Cornish produce. We also have a unique ‘playroom’ for our Yoga classes and creative activities plus a generously sofa’d lounge area where you can relax with a book, a glass of wine or take in a movie. The house has views across the Helford river mouth and out to the ocean.

Choose between a private double room with ensuite bathroom, private double or twin room with shared bathroom, or one of our unique alcove beds. The alcove beds are in a shared space each tucked away with your own side table and lamp, kind of like a grown up dorm room.

How to Get Here

We will provide detailed directions if you are driving and there is ample parking in the grounds of the retreat house.

We include transfers from Falmouth or Truro train stations for those that need them, just let us know your travel plans when you book and we can co-ordinate this.
